3D Character Chaplaincy Requirements

There are three certification levels for 3D Character Chaplains.  They are Level 1 – 3D Certified Chaplain, Level 2 – Advanced Certified Chaplain and Level 3 – Certified Chaplain Mentor.  These certification levels are progressive and require specialized training, experience and responsibilities.  These requirements are designed to be obtainable by any minister who is called to chaplaincy. 

With a ministry motto of "Train Four: Increase Your Significance" it can be understood that we desire to train and help people achieve. 

Below is the requirements for each of the certification levels. 

Level 1 - 3D Certified Chaplain

1. National Background Check
2. Ministerial credentials with the National Conservative Christian Church and be in good standing
3. Have a Chartered Ministry Center through the NCCC that is in good standing
4. Complete our Chaplain Institute training for level 1.  The Chaplain Insitute training for this level includes one intensive onsite training, distance training material before and after the onsite intensive and supervision.  The onsite intensive also includes training in;
   • Chaplaincy
   • Spiritual Matters
   • Character Training
   • Basic Core Health
   • Christian Counseling
5. There is an internship designed to help the new 3D Character Chaplian transition from book learning to application.  This internship is supervised and must be completed before certification is complete.
6. Pastoral Counselor Training
   • The 3D Character Chaplain must have or obtain membership in the National Christian Counselors Association or the Sarasota Academy of Christian Counseling.  We have training ministries in place to help new chaplains achieve this requirement if they have not already met them.
   • The 3D Character Chaplain must carry professional liability insurance for pastoral counseling

Level 2 - Advanced Certified Chaplain

1. Be in good standing as a 3D Certified Chaplain for a minimum of 1 year.
2. Have a successful 3D Certified Chaplain ministry
3. Complete the Chaplain Institute training for level 2
4. Define a specialized area and attend the required training.  Examples of specialized Chaplaincy are;
   • Police, EMS or Local Government
   • Private Schools, Home School or College
   • Hospital, Hospice Care or Elder Care
   • Community, Workplace or Corporate Services
5. Pastoral Counselor Training
   • 3D Character Chaplains must keep memberships current and participate in ongoing training for Christian counseling
   • Show Current professional liability coverage

Level 3 - Certified Chaplain Mentor

1. Be in good standing as an Advanced Certified Chaplain for a minimum of 3 years with a successful chaplain ministry
2. Have at least two 3D Certified Chaplains successfully working under your supervision
3. Complete the Chaplain Institute training for Level 3
4. Pastoral Counselor Training
   • 3D Character Chaplains must keep memberships current and participate in ongoing training for Christian Counseling
   • Show current professional liability coverage
